Comments
When visitors post comments, we collect the details submitted through the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to assist with spam filtering.

A hashed (anonymised) version of your email address may be checked against the Gravatar service to see if you have an account there. Gravatar’s privacy policy can be found at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile photo will be publicly visible alongside it.

Media uploads
Avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Anyone browsing the site can download and extract this location information from uploaded images.

Cookies
Commenters may choose to save their name, email, and website in a cookie for convenience on future visits; these cookies remain active for 12 months.

Visiting our sign-in page sets a temporary, non-personal cookie purely to check whether cookies are enabled in your browser, it’s deleted once you close the browser.

Logging in creates cookies to remember your session and display preferences. Login cookies expire after two days (two weeks if “Remember Me” is checked), and display-preference cookies last a year. Logging out removes your login cookies.

Editing or publishing content adds a short-lived cookie storing only the post ID — no personal data — which expires after one day.

If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an export of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it. This right does not extend to data we’re legally required to retain for administrative, security, or compliance reasons.
